Plan Printing for
Structural and Civil Engineers
Structural and civil engineering includes a wide range of services. A large proportion of what structural engineers do consists of designing structural support in buildings, bridges, tunnels and ground works. There are also essential services involved in civil engineering which includes the design of roads, railways, airports, excavations and quarrying. The majority of structural engineers work primarily as consultants to architects or design and build contractors. Structural and Civil engineers frequently require large format printing with the majority of plans prepared in A0 and A1 sizes. Click Post understand the importance that design intent is clearly defined and communicated to suppliers, contractors and on-site operatives. Failure to do so can lead to avoid costly, abortive works and danger to human health. Structural engineers drawings prepared in A0 and A1 sizes generally include the following:
- Foundation Plans
- Reinforcement drawings
- Bar bending schedules
- Beam schedules
- Lintel Schedules
- Detail Drawings
- Truss plans and layouts
- Steel drawings
- Fabrication drawings
Civil engineers and Utility providers also typically print on A0 and A1 size plans which include:
- Gas, Electric, Telecoms and Water Utility Plans
- Service connection plans
- Road and car park layouts
- Retaining walls and Retaining structures
- Bridges, Decks and Platforms
- Engineering Layouts
- Topographical survey data
- Set out plans
Structural and Civil Engineering CAD drawings produced in software such as AutoCAD, Revit and ArchiCAD, are increasingly distributed via PDF files over the internet. Services such as email and file sharing sites provide a quick and easy solution for distribution — however, the requirement for paper copies of plans for site-use remains prevalent. Click Post is a dedicated online plan printing service which helps distribute and deliver printed plans for the construction industry, nationwide. To upload and order your plans, use our simple online order tool. If you are looking for a structural engineer for your project, you can find one near you on The Institution of Structural Engineers website.
